My primary focus in bookmaking has been to speak about my dating experiences in a rural and large urban environment. I used family and past lovers as a catalyst for the images, reflecting my identity and role in society.

This one-of-a-kind book features woodcuts with watercolor painted sections on each page. Various pop-ups come off of the page with every turn. The concept explores different tattoo ideas in conjunction with fragmented figurative elements from a large scale print that was cut down to size.
The book "sissy" speaks about growing up in a restrictive environment with few available choices concerning sexuality. The image of the infant girl and male figure are united by a single word on each page to detail a thought or feeling. Each spread personifies what happens when personal expression and identity are not allowed to flourish in a supportive environment. Sissy is used as a nickname, but is also a derogitory term when used to describe a male. "Sissy deserved choices."
"My Own Way" is a square two--dimensional flexigon, which reveals four pages depicting a childs exploration of sexuality and personal identity. The intimate size allows the viewer to interact with the images with greater privacy. The envelope houses the flexigon to creat a nurturing haven for the intimate thoughts and reflections in ayoung boys life.
"Ticket Licket" is a simple portfolio created to house six individual double-sided reductive woodcut images. The project was inspired by raffle tickets that are commonly used as entrance into theme parks and benefits. More specifically the images dpeict less than successful dating experiences over a five year period. The edition size was comprised of seventy full portfolios and was completed at the Center for Book Arts in New York City.
