These sculptures incorporate found objects with painting and bookbinding materials. My goal was to maintain their function, but alter their use or perception. The viewer is meant to interact with each of the pieces and view from different angles to gain appreciation of each surface.

Before Batteries: This piece is very fun to operate. The viewer may place one of the four bits on the end and crank as normal. The irregular surface and shape of each bit, makes the process of drilling a little weird. This conjurs up giggles, because the viewer can't help but make some association with it as a sexual device, because of the very nature of the penis drill bits.

bitter-sweet bent: This show was a combination of thoughts... which were game playing with reference to dating in a large urban environment and the sexual frustration that can follow. The focus of the show were the oversized butt plugs and the large cubes resembling dice.

The Center for Book Arts hosted the show and asked me to be their Featured Artist in 1999.
